Synopsis
Well hello to you dear browser. Now I have your attention it would be rude if I didn't tell you a little about my literary feast. So, here is the thing: is it just me or does anyone else find that adulthood offers no refuge from the unexpected horrors, peculiar lack of physical coordination and sometimes unexplained nudity, that accompanied childhood and adolescence?
Does everybody struggle with the hazards that accompany, say, sitting elegantly on a bar stool; using chopsticks; pretending to understand the bank crisis; pedicures - surely it's plain wrong for a stranger to fondle your feet? Or is it just me?
I am proud to say I have a wealth of awkward experiences - from school days to life as an office temp - and here I offer my 18-year-old self (and I hope you too dear reader) some much needed caution and guidance on how to navigate life's rocky path.
Because frankly where is the manual? The much needed manual to life. Well, fret not, for this is my attempt at one and let's call it, because it's fun, a Miran-ual. I thank you.
Review
Miranda Hart is my hero!! Absolute 5 * read! I've seen her sitcom, own the DVDs and am completely obsessed!!. I have also been lucky enough to see her live!! You can imagine my delight and utter excitement when this came out I have recently read it again and it's a hoot. I enjoy it all the more because I have the audiobook which is read by Miranda herself. Each and every moment is absolute joy. The simple ways in which she is able to turn a phrase is pure genius! The humour oozes from the pages, I literally could not put it down. I found myself on more than one occasion both in side splitting pain and crying with laughter. It’s Everything you would want and expects from a queen of comedy. So easy to relate too on so many levels with every subject discussed being a part of everyday life for so many of us all and I bet you say out loud at least once "I've done that" or "that is so me" I cannot recommend this book or it's author highly enough I dare you to not laugh out loud as you read. It is an utter joy from beginning t end. On a more personal level I see Miranda as a fabulous role model, she has no fear of what others may think of her actions and opinions, she takes pride in mocking herself which I think all of us ought to try to do more. The world would be a better place if we all approached it as she does. To quote the lady herself it would be “such fun!”. Thank-you Miranda you are a marvel!
